Pantalla Chinija continues its tour of Lanzarote and widens its horizons, arriving on 27 June on La Graciosa. After selling out its first session, the project returns with a new proposal of cinema and mediation for children, to be held at 12:00 at the Centro Sociocultural Inocencia Páez.
The event is a chance to keep broadening the cultural, educational and family programme aimed at the children of the eighth island, bringing to La Graciosa activities specifically designed for young audiences and encouraging spaces where families, community and culture can meet.
Adventure, nature and dialogue will take centre stage in this new session of La Pantalla Chinija, an initiative driven by Tenique Cultural that uses cinema as an engine for encounter, discussion and reflection. After the screening, mediator Vicki Dos Santos will lead a conversation tailored to children. This moment is one of the distinctive features of La Pantalla Chinija, as it turns the cinematic experience into an opportunity to express emotions, share points of view and discover new ways of interpreting a story.
This session will feature Yakari: a spectacular journey, a film that introduces children to values such as friendship, respect for animals and a connection with nature through an exciting and accessible adventure. The screening will be accompanied by mediation from Vicky Dos Santos, who will create a space for conversation and participation adapted to the youngest members of the audience.
In a setting such as La Graciosa, where cultural events aimed specifically at children are less frequent, the activity also seeks to become a meeting point for families and an opportunity to enjoy cinema as a community experience.
In choosing its programme, La Pantalla Chinija champions a way of watching films based on attention, imagination and shared conversation, offering children cultural spaces devoted to observation, the development of their ability to discuss and debate, and reflection.
La Pantalla Chinija is organised by Tenique Cultural with the collaboration of the youth department of the Cabildo de Lanzarote (the island government), the Ayuntamiento de Tías, the Ayuntamiento de Arrecife, the Ayuntamiento de Haría, the Ayuntamiento de San Bartolomé, the Ayuntamiento de Yaiza and the Ayuntamiento de Tinajo.
